The Institute for Road Pricing Professionals (IRPP) is organized as an independent 501(c)(6) corporation. This structure ensures that the Institute is mission-driven and dedicated to the public good and the advancement of the domain, and remains agile and capable of rapid innovation. IRPP is led by the founders and a core team, the SMEAG, whose members inform IRPP's strategic direction and help develop IRPP intellectual property.
Standardizing Expertise: the Role of the SMEAG
The core of the IRPP's mission is defined and maintained by our Subject Matter Expert Advisory Group (SMEAG). This is a voluntary body of recognized pioneers, senior practitioners, and domain thought leaders from across the road pricing domain. This group provides the high-level industry "pulse" and technical oversight required to ensure IRPP credentials remain as the valid standard. The SMEAG advises on industry trends and needs, reviews the integrity of the Body of Knowledge, and champions IRPP within their organizations. The SMEAG is an august group the members of which understand the deep technical and policy realities of the profession. It embodies the industry's knowledge, ensuring that the credential remains rigorous, relevant, and respected. It's duties include:
